Please tell us about the most interesting, innovative course in your department’s upper-level curriculum.
We have a 4th year course at Nebraska-Lincoln, Math In the City, that has students working on “real world” problems in teams of 4. A typical problem is finding the optimal location for a new fire station for the City of Lincoln. Each team presents their work at the end of the semester. A faculty member and a graduate student teach the course with an enrollment of 20, so there are 5 teams. For more information, see https://www.math.unl.edu/~math-mitc/
